How to Start

Slide the letters on to the white squares in the grid to create a complete crossword. It uses normal dictionary words with English spellings. You can slide them over each other but they must stay in their original row or column.

History

The puzzle was invented by Laurence May at Vexus Puzzle Design, Amersham, UK and marketed as ‘Lexica’. It was designed as a pencil logic puzzle but to me it works most effectively as a computer puzzle. The Times (from March 2010) and the Sun newspapers publish daily puzzles in print and online so there are plenty to choose from. The Sun uses the name ‘Word Slide’. My three puzzles give you an idea of how it works.
