The Bosbury Show was an institution in the village which began in 1875 and only finished in 1969. It began as a Horse Show and Races but developed into an Agricultural and Horticultural Show which included judging of cattle, sheep and horses in the morning and ring events such as showjumping and trotting races after lunch. In marquees on the showground, the horticultural part of the Show had classes for vegetables, fruit, flowers and local produce such as eggs, honey, cakes and preserves. Some years there were amateur sports events such as a costume race on horseback (1920) and a Motor Cycle Musical Chairs (with Lady Partner) (1930).
