To all to whom these Presents shall come
 I Philip Baylis of the Parish of Ledbury in the County of Hereford Land Surveyor send greetings.
Whereas the Inclosure of Swinmore Common situate in the Division of Upleadon in the Parish of Bosbury in the county of Hereford has been duly authorised under the provisions of the Acts for the Inclosure Exchange and Improvement of Land
And whereas I the said Philip Baylis have been appointed the Valuer in the matter of the said Inclosure and having made the Declaration required by the said Acts have duly held all necessary meetings and drawn up and sent to the Inclosure Commissioners for England and Wales my report in writing in the matter of the said Inclosure with a Map thereunto annexed and in all other respects complied with the provisions of the said Acts.
And whereas all such objections as have been made to my said Report having been heard and all such enquiries having been made in relation thereto as the said Inclosure Commissioners have thought fit the said Inclosure Commissioners have authorised and directed me to cause to be drawn up and engrossed on Parchment my Award in the matter of such Inclosure.
Now Know Ye that in pursuance of the provisions of the said Acts and by virtue of the powers and authorities in me vested I the said Philip Baylis the Valuer as aforesaid do make and declare this to be my Award in the matter of the said Inclosure and to this my Award I have annexed the Map referred to by my said Report.
And I the said Philip Baylis do hereby declare that I have set out and appointed and do hereby set out and appoint the following Private Carriage and Occupation Roads that is to say: -
One Private Carriage and Occupation Road of the width of seventeen feet numbered 1 on the Map hereto annexed commencing at a point marked A on the said Map in the premises now belonging to Edward Bury and numbered 582 on the Tithe Plan of the Parish of Bosbury and on the Map annexed and thence extending in a Northwesterly direction between the parcels of land hereinafter described numbered 2 and 3 on the said Map to and terminating at a point marked B on the said Map in the ancient Public Carriage Road which bounds the Northernmost side of Swinmore Common.
And I declare that the last mentioned Private Carriage and Occupation Road is set out for the use of and shall for ever hereafter be maintained and repaired by the Owners for the time being of the said premises numbered 582.
Also one other private Carriage and Occupation Road of the width of seventeen feet numbered 11 on the Map hereto annexed commencing at a point marked C on the said Map in the premises now belong to Thomas Ricketts and known as Nelms farm and thence extending in a Northwesterly direction between the parcels of land hereinafter described and numbered 1 and 2 on the said Map to and terminating at a point marked D on the said Map in the said public Carriage Road which bounds the Northernmost side of Swinmore Common.
And I declare that the last mentioned private Carriage and Occupation Road is set out for the use of and shall for ever hereafter be maintained and repaired by the Owners for the time being of the said Nelms farm.
And I the said Philip Baylis do hereby declare that I have in pursuance of an order of the said Inclosure Commissioners dated the twenty sixth day of June One thousand eight hundred and sixty two sold the whole of the land to be inclosed for the sum of Two hundred and eighty five pounds to the purchaser hereinafter mentioned that is to say.
Unto John Pitt of Weston Beggard in the County of Hereford all that piece or parcel of land numbered 1 on the said Map and containing one rood and eleven perches of which the fences against the Roads are to be made and for ever hereafter maintained repaired by the Owner of such piece or parcel of land.
Unto the said John Pitt all that piece or parcel of land numbered 2 on the said Map and containing four acres and twenty six perches of which the fences against the Roads are to be made and for ever hereafter maintained and repaired by the Owner of such piece or parcel of land.
Unto the said John Pitt all that piece or parcel of land numbered 3 on the said Map and containing two acres three roods and seven perches of which the fences against the Roads are to be made and for ever hereafter maintained and repaired by the Owner of such piece or parcel of land.
And unto the said John Pitt all that piece or parcel of land numbered 4 on the said Map and containing one rood of which the fences against the roads are to be made and for ever hereafter maintained and repaired by the Owner of such piece or parcel of land.
And I the said Philip Baylis do hereby order direct and appoint that the several Hedges Banks Fences and Ditches for inclosing the several Allotments hereinbefore described not already set up and made shall be raised set up and made respectively within the space of Twelve months from the confirmation by the said Inclosure Commissioners of this my Award by the several persons Owners for the time being of the said several Allotments on the sides hereinbefore in that behalf prescribed on which sides respectively a mark is drawn thus T on the said Map.
In Testimony whereof I the said Philip Baylis have to this my Award which I have under the directions of the said Inclosure Commissioners for England and Wales caused to be drawn up and engrossed on Parchment set my hand this fifteenth day of March in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixty five. [In the margin is written:] Enrolled in the office of the clerk of the Peace for the County of Hereford the 8th day of April 1865.
