Note: Published by Tilley’s printing in Ledbury, there are 121 editions in all. Of these, 83 are held in Ledbury Library (Lib), 118 by the Herefordshire Archive Service (HAS) in the Herefordshire Archive and Records Centre (HARC), and 13 in Butcher Row House Museum (BRHM). Only ten editions are held by all three archives.

Up to 1902 the paperback book was strictly an almanac but, in the 1903 edition, a Ledbury Streets Directory was added which was a list of town addresses and occupiers. The 1921 edition was unique in that it included the names of all residents in Ledbury and its environs. From then on, the Almanack listed all telephone subscribers on the Ledbury and neighbouring telephone exchanges. The first telephone numbers had appeared in 1908 and the first four-figure numbers were listed in 1967. British Telecom was first mentioned in 1982.

The price increased over the years from 1d. in 1872 to 1 shilling in 1960 and 3 shillings in 1970. This changed to 20p. in decimal coinage in 1971, then £1 in 1982, and finally £4.50 in 2002.

Still to be sorted out is edition 45 from 1917, 1918 or 1919 which is missing from all three archives.
