How to play:
Use the keyboard arrow keys or touch and swipe up,
down, left or right to move the tiles. All the tiles move as far as they can in the chosen direction.
When two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into one which is double the number. The aim
is to create a 512 tile, possibly then a 1024 tile, or even a 2048 tile. The game ends when the
board is full and no other moves are possible.
Be warned, this puzzle (or is it a game?) is addictive. It requires skill and patience and many tries.
Now you have had some practice, would you like to try the harder
4 x 4 puzzle?
The Javascript engine and graphics are based on ‘2048’ created by Gabriele Cirulli in 2014.
My version is larger but also easier than the original.
If you would like a clue as to the best method of solving see the
Hint
below.
Build up high numbers towards the top of the board and
then avoid using the down arrow
— or the other way round!
